This event includes the visit of the “boves” underground galleries, followed by a local beer and cheese tasting-session, and a dinner.
At the heart of Arras: the “boves” underground galleries visit: the town's must-see!
The underground tunnels: a tour, down along the tunnels under the town, enables you to discover the “underground history” of Arras. Chalk quarries originally, the “boves” were started during the 10th century, and over the years were used for different things: cellars, reserves... The network, which extends under most of the town – and even beyond– was also used as shelter and assembly points for the allied troops in 1917, during the decisive offensive of the Battle of Arras.
We invite you to the Hôtel de Ville (Town Hall), for an extra moment of conviviality during your visit. Come with us to discover some of the special savours of the Nord/Pas-de-Calais: beers brewed in the region (“Ch’ti”, “Page 24”, etc.), cheeses (“Maroille”, “Coeur d’Arras”, etc.)
Enjoy the French cuisine!
